As part of its 80th anniversary celebrations, the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) has announced the launch of the inaugural IUNS Jo Hautvast Nutrition Leadership Award, with applications opening on 1 July.

Named in honour of Professor Jo Hautvast, the new award recognises outstanding leadership and significant contributions to the advancement of nutrition science and its application to improve health and well-being. It aims to celebrate individuals whose work has made a lasting impact through research, education, policy development, advocacy, and capacity building.

The introduction of the award forms part of the activities commemorating 80 years of IUNS leadership in promoting nutrition science and fostering international collaboration. The award highlights the importance of nurturing visionary leaders who are helping shape the future of nutrition worldwide.

Researchers, educators, policymakers, and other nutrition professionals whose work has had a substantial impact at the national, regional, or global level are encouraged to apply.
