The Czech Society for Nutrition (CSN) celebrated an exceptionally active and impactful year in 2025, marked by a rich programme of scientific events, expanded membership, and strengthened professional collaboration across the fields of nutrition, food science and public health.
Throughout the year, CSN delivered a diverse series of conferences and training courses designed to advance evidence-based nutrition practice. Highlights included the annual Conference on Food Supplements, the School Catering Conference, two Student Conferences, and the Dietary Nutrition Conference. A significant milestone was the 80th Anniversary Annual Conference, commemorating the society’s longstanding contribution to nutrition science. The year concluded with the Children’s Nutrition and Obesity Conference, underscoring CSN’s commitment to addressing pressing public health challenges.
Membership in the Society continued to grow, reflecting the organisation’s expanding influence and relevance. CSN also maintained regular publication of its journal Nutrition, Food and Health and further strengthened its advisory activities, supporting both professionals and institutions working to improve population nutrition.
Founded in 1945, the Czech Society for Nutrition unites experts across medicine, public health, veterinary science, chemistry, food technology, education, government, and the food and catering industries. Its long-standing mission is to translate scientific knowledge on human nutrition into meaningful, practical improvements for individuals and society.
CSN’s enduring involvement in international initiatives—such as its collaboration on the EU Public Health Programme that produced the European Nutrition and Health Report 2009—reflects its commitment to advancing nutrition science in Europe and beyond.
