ESPEN Malnutrition Awareness Week 2005
The European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN) is set to host the Malnutrition Awareness Week (MAW) from 10–14 November 2025, a pivotal international campaign dedicated to raising awareness about disease-related malnutrition (DRM) and its profound impact on patient well-being and public health.
Throughout the week, ESPEN will unite communities worldwide to:
- Educate healthcare professionals across all disciplines to enhance early detection, intervention, and comprehensive care for individuals affected by DRM.
- Monitor the quality of nutritional care in healthcare institutions.
- Advocate for transformative action against this global health challenge.
The 2025 MAW will feature a series of educational events, workshops, and informative webinars designed to explore the complexities of DRM at multiple levels. These sessions will involve clinical nutrition experts, patients, and policymakers to share experiences, evidence-based insights, best practices, and cutting-edge research on DRM and its management.
ESPEN encourages participation from national PEN Societies and healthcare professionals worldwide. The society provides tools to run the Malnutrition Awareness Week in each country, free of cost, with webinars, educational material, and social media campaigns, making it easier for everyone to engage and spread the message.
